Here's this week's crime report:
Approaching midnight on August 4th, a Federal Law Enforcement Agent had just returned home from work and was unloading up her car in a parking area of Mariners Village when she was approached by three subjects - one of which was armed with a shotgun. The subject with the shotgun raised it and pointed it at the Agent’s chest and demanded all her money and property. Obviously, they had no idea that they had just decided to rob an armed Law Enforcement Officer. The Agent, feeling her life was in jeopardy, fell back on her many years of training and quickly drew her firearm and identified herself as a Federal Agent as she opened fire on her assailants. All three took off running as the Agent called for assistance from the SFPD. Bayview Officers got there fast and quickly located one of the three suspects hiding under a house, in need of immediate medical treatment for the gunshot wound he received from the Agent during the botched robbery. Further investigation revealed an uninjured second suspect in a nearby house. The Agent positively identified both suspects. The third suspect had also suffered a gunshot wound but managed to run home and get a relative to drive him to an emergency room. Hoping to elude capture, he chose a hospital far from the Bayview but; unfortunately for him, all the district stations keep had been alerted and had their collective fingers on the pulse of criminal activity in this city. It did not take the Park Station Officers who responded to the UCSF Emergency Room long to make the connection and affect the arrest. He was positively identified by the Agent as well. Officers located the loaded shotgun that was used in the original incident inside the suspect’s car in the hospital parking lot. All three suspects were arrested and charged by the SFPD. The two injured suspects received medical treatment and are expected to recover.
Three suspects with a shotgun confront a woman in the dark of night and wind up in the hospital with gunshot wounds before they'll go to jail or, in the case of the lucky one, just go straight to jail. Talk about picking the wrong lady to try and rob - you go girl! (SFPD Case No. 100713941)

On the morning of August 2nd , a victim in Vallejo was carjacked while at a service station. The suspect took the victim's Buick LeSabre at gunpoint and a police report was generated. (Vallejo PD Case No. 109125).
Later that morning, the victim’s sister was driving on the Bay Bridge when low and behold, what did she see? There….. driving beside her….. was her brother’s stolen car! She quickly called 911, advised the CHP dispatcher of the situation, and remained on the line as she followed the suspect into San Francisco in her own car. She did a great job keeping her location fluid with CHP dispatch who patched the whole thing through to SFPD as soon as both cars crossed the county line. Bayview Officer Alex Kwan was the first to locate the car in the area of Bayshore and Jerrold. It was little surprise that the suspect refused to yield once lit up by lights and alerted by siren - the suspect stepped on the gas and the chase was on! Officer Jamison joined in and followed the suspect into the Hunters View area where the car was briefly lost from sight. By then, numerous units were assisting in the search and it did not take long before Officer Hernandez located the suspect lurking near a doorway of a building. The suspect, undone again, tried to escape by running right through the small of stature but "brick wall" that we know around the station as Officer Hernandez - with some help from Officers Balzarini and Gasanyan, who were right there to assist in the arrest. The suspect was positively identified and booked at Bayview Station. The carjacked vehicle had also been located and towed. It will be returned to it's rightful owner. (SFPD Case No. 100704473)

On July 27th at 1:00am, Officers Cloud and Rodriguez were on a call in the area of West Point and Middle Point. While sorting out that particular incident, Officer Cloud noticed a subject rounding the corner toward them. As soon as the subject looked up and saw the cops, he did a 180 and took off like a rabbit in the other direction. The officers, finding this highly suspicious (duh?), decided to follow the subject. A few smooth turns and a few blocks later, the officers were able to head him off. He complied with the detention and did not try to run any further. The apparent reason for his original immediate departure from the area was located in a garbage can around the corner. While running, the suspect had lightened his load a bit by tossing a loaded .380 into the trash can. It’s a good thing Bayview Officers never leave a leaf unturned! He was arrested and booked at Bayview Station. The gun was seized for processing. (Case No. 100684637)
