How will Election 2011 impact SF families?

Election season is in full swing and because I know how hard it is for busy parents to keep up with candidates and issues related to families and education, I have listed some articles below that may help you wade through your ballot.  Full disclosure: my child is in public school so the articles reflect that perspective.  My intention is not to promote public vs. private, it is more to highlight the serious issues of family flight and to illustrate how our votes on open seats and ballot initiatives impact us as parents and our quality of family life in SF.

Public Education Budget Woes (while not directly on the ballot, it is food for thought)

SF public schools are funded primarily by the state.  Here is a great org that will keep you current on the goings on with Governor Jerry Brown and our legislature: Educate our State.  This org was started by SF moms.
