Based on a relatively successful program in London, and with federal funds to do it, SF is considering implementing "Congestion Pricing" here.  The favored southern border is 18th Street.  What do you think about that?  Come to the August meeting and make your opinion heard!  (August 31st at 7pm at the Nabe.)

I might be in the minority, but I think it's a great idea in theory. Whether it could work in SF remains to be seen, but the idea of more money for transit and less congestion in San Francisco both seem like winners. I certainly would want to minimize the impact on businesses and residents, but promoting transit and getting people to internalize the negative side effects of driving seem like good goals.

18th Street seems like an odd choice though, at least in our neighborhood. 16th Street seems like a much more natural place to make a division.
